Asian Vacation Destinations

There are so many wonderful places to see in Asia, but we will just touch on a few, to peek your interest.

Indonesia

Bali is known for the best waves in the world.  Put that together with extremely reliable weather and it makes for a surfing paradise.  Don’t forget the white water rafting and snorkeling.  While there, you can choose from crowded to deserted beaches, as well as white or black sandy ones.  You could experience dance performances and festivals almost daily.  You can also visit hordes of century-old temples.  This is a romantic paradise full of beaches, rice fields and lush green highlands.  You will remember your experience for a lifetime.

Thailand

Thailand’s most popular island destination is Phuket.  Its coastline is divided into bays that form intimate beaches.  You can even get a massage on the beach.  Bangkok is for those looking to explore.  Some key attractions are the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and the Temple of the Dawn.  For a shopping experience, check out the Chatuchak weekend market.  It boasts 15,000 stalls covering 35 acres of land.

Nepal

If you’re looking to do some mountain climbing, this is obviously the place to do it.  But, if you are looking for something other than taking your luck on Mt. Everest, this Himalayan Kingdom also offers wildlife safaris, rafting and paragliding.  While there, you can trace its history back to the 7th century by visiting misty temples, monastaries and ancient Buddhist temples and palaces.

Malaysia

You will find the acclaimed Kinabalu National park in Kota Kinabalu on the island of Borneo.  What a place to trek through the jungle.  You can live your own Survivor episode.

Singapore

Since tourists are showing more of an interest in the past, Singapore has made restorations to its Chinatown district.  One of the places to see is the Thian Hock Ken temple, with its warrior door gods and the city’s oldest Hindu national monument.  As well, feast your eyes on the Kranji War Memorial which is a tribute to the casualties of WWII.  That’s the history & cultural aspects of Singapore.  Now the fun stuff – beaches, exciting games and sea sports all enjoyed along the 3.2 km sandy beaches in Sentosa.  Animal Kingdom’s Underwater world and Night Safari are definitely sights to behold during your visit with its 1,200 animals and more than 110 exotic species to watch out for.
